Conistat-AS 10 Capsules by Novalab Cardiac & Diabetic Care contain Rosuvastatin and Aspirin, a combination of lipid-lowering and antiplatelet medicines prescribed for cardiovascular risk management in selected patients.

Rosuvastatin belongs to the statin class of medicines and works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in cholesterol synthesis in the liver. It helps lower LDL cholesterol and reduce the risk of certain atherosclerotic cardiovascular events.

Aspirin is an antiplatelet medicine that irreversibly inhibits platelet cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), reducing thromboxane A2 production and platelet aggregation. This action helps lower the likelihood of certain blood clots forming within arteries.

Conistat-AS 10 Capsules may be prescribed for selected patients with established coronary artery disease, a history of heart attack or certain ischemic cardiovascular conditions when both cholesterol-lowering and antiplatelet therapy are clinically appropriate.

The gastro-resistant formulation is designed to delay the release of Aspirin until it reaches the intestine. However, gastro-resistant Aspirin does not eliminate the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.
