Neepod-CV Tablets by Novalab Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. contain Cefpodoxime Proxetil and Potassium Clavulanate, a combination of a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic and a beta-lactamase inhibitor.

Cefpodoxime Proxetil is an oral prodrug that converts into Cefpodoxime in the body. Cefpodoxime works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, helping eliminate susceptible bacteria responsible for certain infections.

Potassium Clavulanate provides Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor that blocks certain bacterial enzymes capable of breaking down beta-lactam antibiotics. However, the clinical benefit of combining it with Cefpodoxime depends on the organism and infection being treated.

Neepod-CV Tablets may be prescribed for selected respiratory tract infections, throat infections, sinusitis, ear infections, urinary tract infections and skin infections when the antibiotic combination is medically appropriate.

Antibiotic treatment should be guided by the type of infection, bacterial susceptibility, patient history and applicable prescribing guidelines. Neepod-CV should not be used unnecessarily because inappropriate antibiotic use contributes to antimicrobial resistance.
