Fludix-P Tablets by Novalab Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. are labelled as containing Flupirtine Maleate and Paracetamol, a combination historically used for the management of certain acute painful conditions.

Flupirtine Maleate is a centrally acting, non-opioid analgesic that influences neuronal potassium channels to reduce pain signalling within the central nervous system. It differs from conventional non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs) in its mechanism of action.

Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic medicine that helps relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever.

Flupirtine-containing medicines were previously used for selected musculoskeletal pain, postoperative pain and certain acute pain conditions. However, serious safety concerns arose because of their association with liver toxicity, including potentially fatal liver failure.

In India, Flupirtine and its formulations were prohibited for human use in 2018. Consequently, Fludix-P Tablets should be presented only as historical product information and must not be promoted as an available treatment or recommended for current therapeutic use.
